RealTime Reservation Acquires STAY to Build Global Guest Tech Platform
RTR's purchase of STAY creates an end-to-end hospitality platform serving 2,000+ hotels across 75 countries.
RealTime Reservation (RTR), a leader in dynamic hotel booking technology for live events, announced Wednesday the acquisition of STAY, forming a global end-to-end guest experience platform that will serve more than 2,000 hotels across 75 countries in North America, Europe, Latin America, and the Caribbean. The deal substantially expands RTR's international footprint and cements its position as a top-tier provider of guest engagement and ancillary revenue technology.
Boston-based growth equity firm Wavecrest Growth Partners provided strategic capital to back the transaction. Wavecrest focuses on high-growth B2B software, artificial intelligence, data, and technology-enabled services companies — a profile that aligns with the combined platform RTR and STAY are building together.
The merged platform is designed to cover the full arc of the guest journey, from initial reservations and pre-arrival planning through on-property interactions and service delivery. RTR CEO Shawn Tarter said the hospitality industry is actively pursuing more connected, guest-centric experiences, and the merger gives the company a distinct advantage in helping hotels achieve that goal with a unified solution.
The strategic logic is straightforward: by combining RTR's dynamic reservations engine with STAY's guest experience capabilities, the combined company can capture revenue opportunities at every touchpoint — from booking confirmation to checkout. That kind of full-funnel approach to hotel technology is increasingly in demand as properties compete to differentiate on service and convenience rather than price alone.
