ARRAY Technologies Buys AWM to Expand Solar Balance-of-System
ARRAY Technologies is acquiring Affordable Wire Management to add cable products and grow across solar, BESS, and datacenter markets.
ARRAY Technologies announced plans to acquire Affordable Wire Management (AWM), a move the company says will create a new growth platform in balance-of-system solutions for clean energy and datacenter infrastructure. The deal brings high-margin cable management products under ARRAY's umbrella, broadening the company's hardware portfolio well beyond its core solar tracker business.
The acquisition is designed to extend ARRAY's commercial reach across multiple fast-growing segments, including utility-scale solar, distributed generation, battery energy storage systems (BESS), and datacenter applications. By folding AWM's specialized wire management expertise into its existing operations, ARRAY positions itself to capture a larger share of project spend on any given job site — not just the tracking hardware, but the interconnecting systems that make large installations function.

Balance-of-system components — the cables, conduits, mounting hardware, and electrical gear that tie a solar or storage project together — represent a significant portion of total project cost and have historically been served by a fragmented supplier landscape. ARRAY's move signals a strategic bet that consolidating these offerings alongside trackers can improve margins and strengthen customer relationships by reducing the number of vendors a developer must manage.
The addition of datacenter applications is particularly notable given surging demand for power infrastructure tied to artificial intelligence workloads. While ARRAY built its reputation in utility-scale solar, this acquisition suggests the company sees opportunity in diversifying into adjacent markets where reliable power delivery and cable management are equally critical.
